Monarch Urges Governments to Avoid Interfering in Oba’s Selection Process
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, has urged governments to avoid interfering in the selection process of traditional rulers.
The monarch, who is also the Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, said that governments should operate as unbiased umpires while moderating the process.

He also urged kingmakers and those saddled with the selection process to follow laid down rules and resist the temptation of financial inducements.
Oba Ilori-Faboro said that communities progress when the right princes ascend the throne as kings.
He advised that aggrieved contenders for community stools should allow peace to reign by not taking the laws into their hands but follow the legal process.
The monarch said that he went through a nine-year legal process before he was eventually installed as the Olojudo.
He said that the process was necessary to ensure that the right person was chosen as the king.

He said that they should follow the laid down rules and resist the temptation of financial inducements.
Oba Ilori-Faboro said that the selection of an oba is a sacred process and should not be taken lightly.
