2,000 clerics will pray for Nigeria in Benin, says PFN
President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria ( PFN), Dr. Felix Omobude, has stressed the need for prayers of a breakthrough in the nation ’s security and economic sectors.
Omobude named security and economic growth among the issues to be tackled spiritually by prominent Church leaders from within and outside Nigeria when they converge next week in Benin City, Edo State, for this year ’s annual Bible Alive Believers’ International Convention ( BABIC ) of the Gospel Light International Ministries.
In a statement by his media aide, Ralph Okhiria, in Benin City yesterday, the cleric said that no fewer than 2, 000 prominent Christian clerics from across the world would during the week-long event pray for the country ’s well- being, in what could be regarded as spiritual warfare.
“The Christian leaders from about 10 countries, including Africa, Europe, and America, will be united in fervent prayers against terrorism , insurgency, kidnapping , armed robbery, banditry , and other violent crimes , as well as pray for the peace , unity , economic , political and social well -being of the country .
“We are expecting no fewer than 2, 000 top Christian clerics from across the world and a very large number of worshippers who will be joining their faith with us during the prayer programme .”
According to him, some of the speakers include Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Tudor Bismark, Dr Paul Enenche, Lawrence Achudume and Dr Enoch Sitima, while Nathaniel Bassey, Uche Agu and Covenant Mass Choir will render melodious gospel songs at the event.
“It is our expectation that after the spiritual exercise, Nigeria will become a better and peaceful place for all of us and our people will be blessed abundantly,” Omobude said.
He disclosed that the prayer programme would be part of this year ’s annual BABIC themed ‘The Lord, Strong and Mighty’ .
The Chief of Army Staff ( COAS), Gen. Tukur Buratai, recently suggested spiritual warfare against insecurity in the country.
