He noted that while reforms, including the removal of the fuel subsidy, have brought about economic difficulties, they were essential steps toward securing Nigeria’s future. President Tinubu expressed empathy for the hardships faced by Nigerians, stating, “I am attuned to the hardships that have come. I have a heart that feels and eyes that see.”
He outlined several measures aimed at alleviating the current challenges, including provisional wage increments for low-grade workers and support for states to provide relief packages. He also introduced the transition to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to reduce transport costs and announced tax reforms to improve fiscal policies.
Furthermore, President Tinubu emphasized his commitment to security, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the security forces to keep the nation safe. He said, “My administration shall always accord the highest priority to the safety of the people.”
