Anarchy Reigns In Rivers As Former Majority Leader, Edison Ehie Emerges New Speaker, Suspends CJ

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the suspended Majority leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Edison Ehie has emerged as the new Speaker of the state Assembly.

In his first official duty as speaker, Edison Ehie announces the suspension of the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Simeon Amadi and directed Governor Fubara to appoint another Chief Judge for the oil rich state.

Rivers Gov, Fubara In Emergency Meeting With State Lawmakers Amidst Impeachment Plan

Earlier, Governor Siminalayi Fubara held an emergency meeting with state lawmakers loyal to him amidst the move by 15 lawmakers loyal to the former Governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

There have been political tension in the state following the commencement of Impeachment Proceedings against Governor Fubara who had allegedly fallen out with his political Godfather.

Meanwhile, the suspended leader of the House, Edison Ehie led like-minded lawmakers to the meeting.

It would be recalled that Ehie was suspended on Monday, over his alleged complicity in the arson attack on the assembly on Sunday night.

Ehie, a strong supporter of Governor Similanayi Fubara, was said to have frustrated the initial attempt to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor.
