Oba Ogunlaja Of Noforija Calls For Unity, Cooperation At Oba Oliwo Of Odo-Egiri’s Coronation
By Babawale Solomon
Eko Hot Blog reports that Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Noforija Kingdom, has called for unity and cooperation in Odo-Egiri Kingdom, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division, Lagos State.
He made the call during the weekend at the coronation ceremony of HRM Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo, Gbadewolu I, as the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri.
Oba Oliwo, who received his staff of office from the Lagos State Government in May 2023, is the first king of Odo-Egiri.
In his address at the grand finale of the monarch’s coronation ceremony, Oba Ogunlaja emphasised the historical ties between Aladepekun and the Awujale’s lineage, highlighting that the crown coming to Odo-Egiri was not a new development.
He said, “For the crown to come to Odo-Egiri is not a new thing because Aladepekun is one of the children of Awujale, and I’m the Aladeshonyin of Noforija kingdom, the eldest among them.
“So, for him to have the crown is not a crime or taboo. He’s wearing the crown of his forefathers, it might be late, but it doesn’t matter.”
The Aladeshonyin stressed the spirit of unity within the Epe division, particularly within Eredo LCDA.
He expressed his belief that Oba Oliwo would succeed in his role with the support of the community, making it a collective endeavor.
Oba Ogunlaja also thanked those involved in the monarch’s coronation, including the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their roles in making the momentous event possible.
He pledged to continue offering prayers for the newly crowned king, highlighting the unity and goodwill that unite the Epe community.
