Traffic Offenders To Spend 100 Days Community Service
Lagos State has sentenced thirty-seven traffic offenders to 100 days community service and fine ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 naira.
The Lagos Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice led their arraignment and prosecution at the Special Offences (mobile) court in Oshodi.
The offenders were charged for driving against traffic, illegal driving on the BRT corridor and illegally plying the Highway with Motorcycles.
The accused, who were given legal representation by the Office of the Public Defender, pleaded guilty to the offences had asked for a lenient sentence.
In addition to the compulsory community service and fines, the magistrate also ordered that their impounded vehicles and motorcycles be forfeited to the state government.
