Alhaji Olukoya celebrated his birthday at his residence in Igbile, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, where he was joined by friends and family to also unveil a new mosque he built for prayers.
The event gathered dignitaries, including Chief Imam Agiliti (Mile 12), Fadeelat Sheik Sakariyau Sanni, Chief Imam of the day, Shiek Imam Taofiq Ismail, Alhaji Nojeemdeen Olukoya, Alhaji Ramoni Adeleke, the Alakoso Adinni of the new mosque, Alhaja Tawakalitu Onikoyi, Princess Mrs. Tinu Adejinrin, the new imam of Ismail Quranic and Praying Mosque, Ustaz Qasim Abdulganiyyi Olokunola and more.
In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Alhaji Ismail, while paying tribute to Alhaji Olukoya appreciated God for the celebrant’s life, revealing that the crowd today is a testament of the kind of man he is.
“We thank God for the life of our father. From the onset, he’s been a compassionate man, taking the work of God seriously and doing good for both men and women. He’s had the intention to build this mosque for a long time, but God said it would come to pass this year, and he decided to unveil it on his 75th birthday,” the cleric said.
“We thank God for him. Our father always has the things of God at heart, and he loves to cater to the people of God and the Alfas. That’s why we gathered together to celebrate him. He’s a good man; if not, the crowd today wouldn’t have been here. I pray he lives long, and nothing shall befall him, his wife, and children.”
On her part, Princess Mrs. Adejinrin disclosed her relationship with the celebrant, detailing how he helped a family during their hard times.
“Alhaji Olukoya happens to be my father-in-law. He’s a brother to my husband. I want to wish him and his wife, Alhaja Titilayo Olukoya, a happy birthday, long life, and prosperity. God will continue to keep both of them; they will live and not die young,” she said.
“Alhaji Olukoya is a nice man, a philanthropist, very generous. I’m always happy to be with him. He’s a nice man to the core. Recently, someone told me how he has been helping his family since her husband has been down for almost two years; he has placed them on salary to take care of the family. He’s not the only one here in Igbile, but he’s been so generous, and I’d like to say a big thank you to him.
“Anyone that does something for God, the sky is their starting point. I pray God blesses him and his wife the more. I love them, and I’m always happy to see them together.”
Also, Mrs. Onikoyi expressed her joy at being recognized while rejoicing with the celebrant for being a good man.
“I’m happy that my mum’s people have recognized me and endowed me with this Islamic title. I’m very happy and elated. Alhaji Olukoya has been generous since we were young. He’s a philanthropist, a family man, a bridge maker; he’s a lively person and hospitable. I wish him a long life filled with more prosperity,” she said.
Similarly, Ustaz Olokunola expressed his happiness at his new position as the Imam of the new mosque, hoping God guides his every step and also appreciating the contributions of the celebrant in his life and the lives of the people in the community.
“I’m being turbaned as the imam of the newly built mosque. I pray to God to help me so that I don’t make mistakes, so that I can stay long as the imam of the mosque,” he said.
“I’m happy with what God has done for our father, Alhaji Olukoya, keeping him in good health and condition to celebrate his 75th Birthday. It’s a thing of joy. Not just that God gave him the grace to erect a mosque here for the community to come pray and for children to come learn about the Quran.
“He’s made provisions for their learning materials and wears. I pray that he will never fall sick or fall into any bad situation. God Almighty will protect him and bless him more than this.”
