The Defence Headquarters stated that among the deceased were key figures like Kachala, Machika (a bomb expert), and others specializing in kidnapping and assault.
Notably, Kachala was responsible for the abduction of students from the Federal University Gusau.
In a separate operation, troops apprehended Uchechukwu Akpa, a prominent commander of IPOB/ESN, along with three sub-commanders during a raid in Enugu State.
Their capture prevented plans to assume leadership after the arrest of their former commander, Chocho. Akpa sustained injuries while attempting to escape.
The military’s efforts also led to the arrest of 66 suspected oil thieves, the rescue of 89 hostages, and the seizure of various weapons, ammunition, and stolen goods.
Maj. Gen. Buba detailed the recovered items, including rifles, guns, ammunition, magazines, vehicles, mobile phones, and motorcycles.
The military’s operations have aimed to neutralize terrorist threats, dismantle criminal networks, and ensure public safety.
