  • Rep. Raji has facilitated the completion of various projects in Epe Federal Constituency in 2023.
  • The lawmaker is ending the year with the start of asphalt laying for roads on three streets in Epe.
  • His robust representation has been credited for his election to an unprecedented third term in the House of Representatives in February.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Rep. Wale Raji, the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has facilitated the beginning of asphalt laying for roads on three streets in Epe Local Government, Epe, Lagos State.

The streets are Babatunde Bakare, Edatomola Ogundipe and Halima streets.

In a statement on Friday, Rep. Raji’s office disclosed that the contractor handling the construction of roads on the streets has started laying asphalt on the link roads.

The lawmaker’s office said start of the asphalt laying is part of efforts to ensure timely delivery of the project.

The Senior Legislative Aide to Rep. Raji on Special Duties and Projects, Otunba Wale Olusesi, said the project, which started in August 2023, would be delivered ahead of time.

He also disclosed that the roads will be fitted with solar-powered street lights upon completion.

The lawmaker’s aide allayed the fears of residents of Uraka, Kula Nla and other areas where road construction is currently going on across Epe Federal Constituency, saying their projects will not be left uncompleted.

Olusesi noted that Rep. Raji has consistently shown “zero tolerance” for uncompleted projects, hence none of the projects he has facilitated so far will be abandoned.

He called for continued cooperation and support for the legislator and contractors handling the projects, adding that they will all be completed soon.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker’s efforts to complete the construction of the three roads have drawn commendation from residents.

In a terse statement, Otunba Kabiru Abimbola Ashiru, a prominent figure in the community and the Director-General of TINCSO, said residents of the three streets were grateful for Rep. Raji’s timely intervention.

He hailed the lawmaker, whom he referred to as “Mr. Promise and Do,” for the substantial development brought to their community.

“In fact, we, the entire residents of Babatunde Bakare street, Edatomola and Halima street Epe, hereby say a big thank you sir to our ‘Mr promise and do’, Rt Hon Wale Raji,” the resident said.

Ashiru prayed for continued protection and guidance for the community’s federal lawmaker.

“For this giant development in our community, may Almighty Allah continue to protect and guide him; he has started well, and he is going to end well, Insha Allah,” he added.

The beginning of the asphalt laying is only the latest in Rep. Raji’s catalogue of constituency projects.

In November, the lawmaker commissioned the Shiwola Road in Odosiwola, a strategic road connecting around 10 communities to the Epe-Ijebu Ode Express Road. The road had been in poor condition for an extended period.

The same day, he unveiled 86 free shops he facilitated at the Mojoda Market in Eredo LCDA, Epe Division.

According to Rep. Raji, the move was to strengthen Epe’s economy, as market traders are the backbone of the informal sector.

The NASS member also inaugurated a healthcare facility in Iraye, emphasising his commitment to the welfare of his people.

He stated that the lack of any public healthcare centre in Iraye prompted him to facilitate the construction of one in the community.

Residents had to travel long distances to access healthcare. After the delivery of the primary healthcare centre, residents now have access to healthcare in their community.
