Kano Government Issues Stern Warning To Local Government Chairmen Over Illegal Sale Of Government Properties

The Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, delivered the stern message, emphasizing that such actions could result in severe consequences, including the risk of losing their positions.
In response to reports alleging the illicit sale of government assets, including farms, plots of land, shops, and residential properties, the government has taken a decisive stance to curb the unauthorized activities of local government chairmen.
A statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai, conveyed the government’s warning to cease any illegal sale of government properties immediately.
The statement highlighted the government’s commitment to taking decisive action against anyone found guilty of such practices.
According to the statement, Comrade Gwarzo revealed, “The government will take decisive action against anyone found guilty of selling government properties.” He further disclosed that “an intelligent team has been dispatched to various local government areas to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the unauthorized sale of government properties.”
The government’s concern extends to land encroachers, with a clear emphasis on the legal consequences for those participating in the sale or purchase of government-owned land.
Comrade Gwarzo urged members of the public to collaborate with the government by reporting any instances of individuals selling government properties. He stated, “The collaborative approach is crucial in ensuring the preservation of public assets and upholding the rule of law.”
He assured the public that the Kano State Government remains committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, and the protection of public resources. Comrade Gwarzo affirmed, “Any individual found culpable in this illicit activity will face the full force of the law.”
The government’s proactive measures aim to curb the illegal sale of government properties and safeguard the interests of the state and its citizens.
