‘Let There Be Light:’ Wale Raji Lights Up LASU Epe Campus With 40 Streetlights
Eko Hot Blog reports that Rep. Wale Raji, the Member Federal House of Representatives, Epe Federal Constituency has facilitated the installation of 40 high-resolution Solar-Powered Street Lights on the Epe Campus of the Lagos State University (LASU).
The initiative enhances the safety and security of the campus which had been in need for so long before the intervention.
Speaking at an event inaugurating the lighting project, Raji who was represented by Otunba Wale Olusesi, (SLA Projects and Special Duties) and Mr Seriki Olabowale (SLA Politics), noted that his efforts reflect a dedication to both education and sustainable energy solutions, showcasing the positive impact that thoughtful leadership can have on local communities.

“The strategic placement of these solar street lights not only addresses the imperative of safety and security within the university campus but also marks a significant stride towards creating an environment conducive to learning,” a statement from the lawmaker’s office said on Thursday.
“The metaphorical illumination provided by these solar lights resonates with the literal brightness they bring to the paths traversed by students, faculty, and staff.”
The LASU Management Team, which was represented by Prof. Abanikanda highlighted that, Raji’s forward-thinking approach is particularly noteworthy, as it recognises the symbiotic relationship between infrastructure development and the pursuit of education.
“By integrating sustainable energy solutions into the fabric of LASU Epe, Rep Raji not only ensures a safer and more secure environment but also contributes to a broader vision of environmental consciousness,” the lawmaker’s office stated.
