Eko Hot Blog reports that, in an enlightening conversation with Eko Hot Blog during The Healthcare Federation of Nigeria’s (HFN) 2024 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Tunji Alausa, provided valuable insights into the government’s dedication to comprehensive healthcare, particularly in rural areas, aligning closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s overarching vision.

EDITOR’S PICK:

Minister Alausa emphasized the strategic importance of engaging the private sector in healthcare, highlighting its crucial role in reaching and benefiting rural communities.

He stated, “Getting the rural areas to benefit from the federal government’s deepening relationship with the private sector is pivotal.”

The minister pointed out that increased government spending on healthcare infrastructure, equipment, and delivery is not only poised to generate job opportunities but also to foster entrepreneurship in the health sector, especially among the youth.

Alausa asserted, “Once the federal government starts to spend more in the areas of infrastructure, equipment, and delivery of care, pulling the private sector along, we will be able to create more job opportunities for the young population in Nigeria.”

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to Nigerians is unwavering, and he has repeatedly stated that every single citizen of Nigeria is entitled to meaningful and comprehensive healthcare,” emphasized Alausa.

This commitment has translated into a directive for the Ministry of Health to prioritize accessibility, affordability, and sustainability in healthcare, particularly for those in rural areas facing challenges in accessing quality health services.

Focusing on rural communities is integral to achieving President Tinubu’s vision, according to Alausa.

He believes that as the federal government intensifies collaboration with the private sector, healthcare initiatives will thrive, creating a system that caters to the diverse needs of the Nigerian population, especially those in rural and underserved areas.
