Patience: The Key To A Better Nigeria, Stresses Hon. Dr. Peter Awofodu
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a lively interview during the Super Bowl viewing event at the Eko Club USA Inc Houston Texas, the Financial Secretary, Honorable Dr. Peter Awofodu, provided perspectives on the significance of the Super Bowl, its impact on American culture, and shared thoughts on the recent Nigeria vs. Ivory Coast football match.

Dr. Awofodu expressed that beyond being an outstanding sporting event, the Super Bowl has become a tradition deeply embedded in American culture. He highlighted the enthusiasm among Americans, stating, “Super Bowl, apart from the fact that it is a very good sport that the Americans have found, it has become a tradition. It is what Americans want to see; they hunger for it every year.”
Regarding the Nigeria vs. Ivory Coast football match, Dr. Awofodu analyzed the game, pointing out the defensive strategy employed by the Nigerian team.
He noted that the Ivory Coast played exceptionally well, stating, “The Nigeria tried their best, but give it up to Ivory Coast; the best team won.”
In response to questions about the current state of affairs in Nigeria, Dr. Awofodu urged Nigerians to cultivate patience, describing it as a virtue crucial for national development.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the country but emphasized the need for citizens to support the efforts of the government.
He expressed optimism that with patience and prayer, Nigeria can navigate its current challenges and emerge stronger.
He said, “My advice to Nigerians is that generally in Nigeria, we don’t have patience. Patience is a virtue that we need to cultivate.”
In a final note, Dr. Awofodu touched on the complexities surrounding mineral resources in Nigeria and hinted at possible international involvement.
He advised Nigerians to stay united, patient, and prayerful as the country undergoes a refining process.
He said, “That country is going through fire right now before we become refined.”
