Customs Initiates Distribution Of Seized Food Items To Nigerians
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced plans to commence direct distribution of seized food items to Nigerians in response to food security challenges and soaring food costs.

According to NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada, the move aims to “alleviate the hardships faced by Nigerians and improve access to essential food items.”
He said the customs service will facilitate the disposal of forfeited food items to the Federal Government that are certified fit for consumption by relevant agencies.
“These items would be certified fit for consumption by relevant agencies and made available to ordinary Nigerians nationwide through equitable distribution in our areas of operations,” Maiwada stated.
The announcement comes as Nigerians in some states have protested against the economic crisis and rising living costs.
