“The initiative which is now running for the 4th year, covers over 140 beneficiaries, aims to alleviate the financial burden on senior citizens. This has been widely applauded for its impact on the community,” Raji’s office said.
“The February 2024 disbursement marks another successful implementation of the scheme, with beneficiaries after receiving their N10,000 stipend expressing gratitude for the timely support.
“Many of the elderly residents rely on this stipend to meet their basic needs, and the consistent provision of this assistance has significantly improved their quality of life.
“Rep. Wale Raji’s commitment to the welfare of the elderly serves as a shining example of leadership and compassion. His efforts are not only appreciated by the beneficiaries but also stand as a testament to his dedication to serving the people of his constituency.”
The Elders Welfare Scheme is not the lawmaker’s only welfare programme.
Raji launched the Elders Welfare Scheme and the Grassroots Trader Support (Cash Grant) Scheme in November 2020.
He selected 1,100 grassroots traders across all wards in Epe as the first beneficiaries of cash grants of N25,000.
Also, 100 people, aged 70 years and above, who lacked means of livelihood or financial support, were chosen across all wards in Epe Federal Constituency to receive a constant monthly stipend of N10,000.
