The Enforcement Team is responsible for monitoring ongoing building construction, identifying distressed and illegal structures, and ensuring adherence to approved building plans. Oki commended the team’s commitment, stating, “I commended the team for their unwavering commitment towards the discharge of their statutory duties and the full actualization of set goals and objectives of LASBCA through their effective monitoring, enforcement, and identification of ongoing building constructions, illegal and non-conforming buildings in Lagos State.”
The reorganization aims to boost the team’s performance and provide broader coverage across the state’s five divisions: Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe. Oki emphasized the importance of professionalism, saying, “He implored them to be law abiding citizens of the state by making sure that duties are not compromised and work is professionally handled during their routine monitoring and enforcement exercises, as overzealousness, aggression, and unprofessionalism breed zero results.”
In a solemn moment, Oki expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of Mr. Kamoru Bello, a member of the Enforcement Team who recently lost his life in active service. As a tribute, LASBCA has decided to name the building housing the Enforcement Unit after him. Oki stated, “Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) is deeply saddened by the passing of a cherished staff member and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and colleagues. I acknowledge the Enforcement team for their steadfastness amidst this trying period, appreciating your resilience. As a mark of respect and to keep his memory alive, the management has decided to name the building housing the enforcement unit after him.”
