Eko hot blog reports that In response to escalating threats posed by the Houthi rebels in Yemen, U.S. forces have conducted self-defense strikes targeting three underground weapons storage facilities controlled by the group.

The strikes, aimed at disabling capabilities utilized by the Houthis to attack naval and merchant vessels in the region, were confirmed by the states Central Command (CENTCOM) in a recent statement.
Alongside the strikes on the weapons storage facilities, CENTCOM reported the destruction of four unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, emphasizing the defensive nature of these actions.
The ongoing conflict in the Red Sea region, exacerbated by Houthi attacks which they claim are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, has significantly disrupted global shipping routes, compelling companies to undertake longer and costlier journeys around southern Africa.
Responding to the U.S. striked Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, the head of the Houthi supreme revolutionary committee, denounced what he termed as “reckless” attacks by the U.S. and Britain on Yemen.
The Houthi-run Saba News Agency reported airstrikes conducted by the states and British aircraft on Hodeidah, the area housing Yemen’s main port.
CENTCOM justified its actions, stating that the strikes were necessary to safeguard U.S. forces, ensure freedom of navigation, and enhance the security of international waters for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.
