Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija, described the initiative as a welcome development.

He urged other local leaders to embark on initiatives that will ease the impact of the current economic hardship on their community members.

Other traditional rulers in the area joined the Aladeshonyin in praising the Eredo LCDA boss.

“God will help him [Akinloye] and elevate him,” declared Oba Adeshina Suliamon Adebowale, the Omola of Odomola Kingdom.

“There is hardship in the community, he should continue to do the good job he has started. Because giving out 20 million naira is not an easy task, and an easy amount to come by.”

King Nurudeen Adelani Adeniyi echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the chairman’s accomplishments while advocating for greater involvement of traditional rulers in governance. “Our Chairman has done a lot,” he stated.

“All I want to say is to beg the Federal Government to involve the King as the fourth realm in governance in Lagos State. We have the Federal, we have the State, we have the Local Government; they should involve the Kings as the fourth realm in governance.”

Adeniyi further emphasized the importance of transparency and efficiency in the distribution process, suggesting that involving traditional rulers could facilitate smoother operations.

“If this were to be done in our various palaces, it would make the distribution of the cash faster and ease up having too many people in one place. If we are to do it at the state level, people will play dirty games, but at the local level and with full involvement of Kings, it would be fair,” he added.

Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Alara of Alara, also expressed gratitude for Akinloye’s genuine efforts.

“This is a good one for us because he is doing well. We love what he is doing because he can as well decide not to do it, and nothing we can do about it. We are grateful for his truthful nature, and God bless him,” he said.

King Ayodele Kolawola Aliru, the Alade Uraka of Pokaland, echoed the call for continued commitment and transparency, urging Akinloye to “continue with this project as he has promised and not default on the good work he is doing.”

Aliru also advised that, “He should allow the ward representatives to confirm that the money is distributed to the right people in their wards.”
