Joshua's Next Opponent Unveiled: A Little Adventure Awaits
  • Joshua to headline massive Wembley event, claims close friend Derek Chisora
  • Likely to face Dubois vs. Hrgovic winner, missing out on Fury and Usyk clashes
  • Promoter Eddie Hearn confident in Joshua’s status as “best heavyweight in the world”

Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a surprising revelation, former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s next opponent has been reportedly leaked by his good friend Derek Chisora.

According to Chisora, Joshua will not be facing either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk next, as many had anticipated, but instead will headline a massive event at Wembley Stadium later this year.

Editor’s Pick:

Chisora spilled the beans in an interview with iFL TV, stating, “He will fight the winner of Daniel Dubois and [Filip] Hrgovic in Wembley. F*** it, I’ve got a big mouth. That’s the plan. It’s gonna be a sick, a little adventure for Turki Alalshikh to bring it back to London.”

The proposed fight between Dubois and Hrgovic is expected to take place on the undercard of the undisputed clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol in Saudi Arabia on June 1. It could potentially be for the IBF world title if the organization forces either Fury or Usyk to face their mandatory challenger Hrgovic.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, seems confident in his fighter’s abilities, claiming that the British star is now the best heavyweight in the world after his stunning performance against Francis Ngannou last month, which extended his unbeaten streak to four fights.

“Hearn thinks Joshua is now the best heavyweight in the world after his stunning performance against Ngannou, which extended his unbeaten streak to four fights,” the report stated.

However, Fury scoffed at Hearn’s claim, bringing up Joshua’s previous two losses to Usyk. “I’m sure that Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say about that given he beat him twice,” Fury said.

While Joshua’s next opponent may not be the undisputed showdown many fans had hoped for, the potential clash with either Dubois or Hrgovic promises to be an intriguing “little adventure” for the former champion as he aims to solidify his place among the heavyweight elite.
