The initiative, which aligns with the directive of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, aims to provide much-needed relief to the people at the grassroots level during these challenging times.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Chairman Akinloye expressed his gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu, stating, “The Executive Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu must be appreciated and thanked for this laudable project. He is a man of honor and grace. We wouldn’t have been able to achieve this without his effort and support.”
Emphasizing the inclusive nature of the program, Akinloye said, “We have arranged things (raw rice and beans) to go round all and sundry. Let me assure you that the federal, state, and local governments are not leaving any stone unturned in seeing that this country is a better place for us to live in.”
The chairman’s commitment to equitable distribution is further underscored by the governor’s directive, which emphasizes that no council chairman should seek personal recognition for the initiative. Instead, all praise and acknowledgment should be directed towards the state government, highlighting the collective effort in responding to the needs of the people.
“Let’s all exercise patience and cooperate with the government, as the hardships will soon be things of the past,” Akinloye assured the residents.

This food distribution program follows a previous initiative by the Eredo LCDA, where the chairman disbursed twenty million naira (N20,000,000) to one thousand (1,000) people within the council area as additional palliatives to alleviate the hardship faced by the residents.
The governor’s directive and the LCDA’s efforts underscore the Lagos State Government’s dedication to inclusive governance and the equitable distribution of resources, ensuring that relief reaches those in need without any political biases.
