Suspension Of Chairman Ganduje
  • Party alleges opposition NNPP orchestrated sham suspension
  • Demands police probe, vows legal action against “impersonators”
  • Ganduje’s home ward denounces suspension as “null and void”

Eko Hot Blog reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vehemently denounced the purported suspension of its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, by the party’s executive committee in his home ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano State.

The ruling party has described the action as a “downright criminal” act orchestrated by non-APC members affiliated with the opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano.

Editor’s Pick:

In a strongly-worded statement issued yesterday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party asserted that the individuals behind Ganduje’s suspension were not legitimate, card-carrying members of the APC ward but rather “impersonators” sponsored by senior NNPP officials in the state.

Morka alleged that the suspension was part of a broader “despicable programme of political persecution” launched by the Kano State government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, against the former governor Ganduje. He emphasized that the legitimate executive committee of Ganduje’s ward had already denounced the action and reaffirmed the national chairman’s standing as a bonafide party member.

Determined to bring the perpetrators to justice, the APC has filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, requesting an expedited investigation into the matter. Morka stated, “The party has filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police, requesting an expedited investigation of this matter and that the perpetrators and their sponsors be brought to justice.”

Meanwhile, the APC’s Kano State chapter has also warned the ward leaders involved in falsely declaring Ganduje’s suspension, stating that legal action will be taken against them for “conspiracy, impersonation, and defamation.” The ward chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, declared the purported suspension “null and void” and affirmed that the party intends to sue the individuals involved for their actions.

The APC has called on its members to disregard the purported suspension and remain calm as the party takes legal measures to address what it deems a criminal act aimed at creating confusion within its ranks.
