Aladepekun Of Odo-Egiri Empowers Youths Amidst Kilajolu Celebration

The festival is a unique event celebrated with masquerades delivering strokes of the cane to bless community members.

The Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri used the occasion of the 2024 edition to support some youths in his kingdom.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Aladepekun of Odo-Egiri, Oba Musiliu Abiola Oliwo empowered some youths in the community by providing them with tools for their trade during the 2024 Kilajolu Festival.

The Kilajolu Festival is an annual colourful and vibrant festival which took place on Saturday, April 20th in the ancient town of Odo-Egiri, Epe, Lagos.
The Kabiesi in his speech thanked everyone for coming, particularly the youths of Odo-Egiri Kingdom and other kings as well for their constant support and cooperation.
“I greet all the sons and daughters of Odo-Egiri Kingdom home and abroad, and I welcome you to the Kilajolu Festival,” he said.
“I specially thank all the youths, starting from Mr Odeyemi for their constant support, and I greet all the kings here present as well,” Kabiesi stated.
The beneficiaries were empowered with clippers, hair dryers, shovels, etc for barbers, hairdressers and bricklayers respectively.
The beneficiaries were full of gratitude to the royal father and prayed for his reign to be long.
“I feel so great and I am happy about this. I say thank you to our Kabiesi, May he continue to grow in knowledge,” Miss Rukayat, one of the beneficiaries, hailed.

Mr Adekunle Omotayo, a beneficiary, in an interview with Eko Hot Blog explained that there are lots of workers out there without work tools, so he is extremely grateful for the empowerment and showered praises on the royal father.
