Eko Hot Blog reports that The national U-17 men’s team, the Golden Eaglets, held Miracle Academy from Abia State to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match at the FIFA Goal Project pitch within the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday evening.

The match was part of the team’s preparation for their upcoming title defense in the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations in Ghana next month.
The Eaglets are set to kick off their Group B campaign against Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Togo.
Despite the visitors scoring against the run of play, the Eaglets swiftly regrouped, equalizing just moments later to finish the first half on level terms.
Manu Garba’s team dominated the entire second half but struggled to convert numerous scoring opportunities.
The five-time world champions have played three preparatory matches, securing one win alongside two draws, scoring six goals while conceding four.
Their latest fixture saw them held to a 1-1 draw by Ikon Allah Academy, a football team based in Kaduna, on Tuesday evening.
Recalled that with just under a month remaining until the 2024 WAFU B U-17 tournament in Ghana, Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba, revealed that he has called up 51 players to the camp in preparation for the tournament scheduled to take place from May 15 to 29 in Accra, Ghana.

Nigeria won the last edition of the WAFU B tournament after they defeated Burkina Faso in the sub-regional final two years ago in Ghana.
