BREAKING: Tinubu Gives Fresh Directive Over New Minimum Wage
Eko Hot Blog reports that President Bola Tinubu has directed Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating Minister of the economy to present the cost implications for a new minimum wage.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, said the president had a meeting with the representatives of the federal government in the negotiation with the labour on the minimum wage.
Recall that the organised labour earlier on Tuesday suspended its nationwide strike for five days.
The decision was taken following an agreement reached during emergency minimum Wage meeting between the organized labour and federal government delegation on Monday.
The Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress suspended the strike after its joint national executive council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday
According to TheCable, top official of the NLC disclosed that the strike has been “relaxed for a few days”.
The industrial action paralysed economic and government activities across the nation for two days.
