Senator Tokunbo Abiru Distributes Food Packages to Epe Community for Ileya Festival

Ẹkọ hot blog reports that In a gesture of goodwill and community support, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has distributed food packages to residents of the Epe community in Lagos State as part of his ongoing efforts to support his constituents during the Ileya festival, also known as Eid-el-Kabir.

The distribution event, held on Friday 14th of June 2024, saw hundreds of Epe residents gather to receive the food packages, which included essential items such as rice, beans, vegetable oil, and other non-perishable goods.

This initiative is part of Senator Abiru’s broader mission to alleviate food insecurity and support local communities during festive periods.

Senator Abiru, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, emphasized the importance of community support and solidarity, especially during festive seasons.

“The Ileya festival is a time for celebration, reflection, and unity,” said Abiru. “I am committed to ensuring that no family in Epe is left without the means to celebrate this important occasion.

These food packages are a small gesture to show my appreciation and support for the community.”

Community leaders and beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the senator’s generosity. “Senator Abiru has always been a pillar of support for us,” said Alhaji Rafiu Salami, a community leader in Epe.

This initiative is part of a series of community-focused projects undertaken by Senator Abiru since he assumed office.

Earlier this year, he launched several empowerment programs aimed at providing vocational training and financial support to young entrepreneurs in the district.

Additionally, his office has been active in improving healthcare facilities and educational resources across Lagos East.

The food distribution in Epe is one of many events planned by Senator Abiru to celebrate the Ileya festival.

His office has also announced similar initiatives in other parts of Lagos East, including Ikorodu, Kosofe, and Somolu.

Senator Abiru’s efforts have been widely recognized and praised by various stakeholders, including civic organizations and religious leaders.

The senator has reiterated his commitment to continue supporting his constituents and addressing their needs through sustainable and impactful initiatives
