Women U-17 W’Cup: Flamingos Set To Discover Opponents In Today’s Draw
The Nigeria women’s U-17 team will learn their 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup opponents during the draw in Santo Domingo.
Eko Hot Blog reports that The Nigeria women’s U-17 national team, the Flamingos, will learn their 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup opponents when the tournament draw takes place today, Saturday, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The event will be held at the Frey Antón de Montecinos monument.
A historic landmark near the Colonial City area of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.
This tournament will be the last to feature 16 nations, as the 2025 edition in Morocco will expand to include 24 teams.
The draw will be presented by Avelino Cuadra, a journalist, football commentator, and content creator, and hosted by FIFA Director of Tournaments Jaime Yarza.
Yarza will be assisted by Dominican athlete and mountaineer Thais Herrera, the first Dominican woman to climb Mount Everest.
Moreso, Canada-born Mexican player Tatiana Flores, who represented El Tri at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India in 2022.
This marks the Dominican Republic’s debut at a FIFA women’s event, coinciding with a buoyant period in the nation’s football scene.
Last year saw their first representation at the FIFA U-20 World Cup™,
And their men’s Olympic team is gearing up for their inaugural appearance at Paris 2024.
The draw represents the most recent significant step in the lead-up to the tournament.
Following the unveiling of the Official Emblem, the release of the match schedule, and the commencement of volunteer program registration.
Alongside Nigeria, the other 15 participating teams include Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, England.
Others are: Japan, Kenya, Korea DPR, Korea Republic, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, USA, and Zambia.
Ecuador, Kenya, and Poland are poised to make their debut appearances in the tournament.

Tickets for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Dominican Republic 2024, scheduled to take place in Santo Domingo and Santiago de los Caballeros from October 16 to November 3, will be available for purchase starting August 27.
