Eko Hot Blog reports that a man identified as Abdulazizi Abdulwasiu has been apprehended by police officers in Lagos for impersonating a soldier by wearing his friend’s complete army camouflage uniform.
The arrest occurred in the Ajangbadi area of the state.
According to reports, Abdulwasiu, 28, was spotted riding an unregistered black TVS motorcycle along Jinadu Street by policemen from the Ilemba Hausa Division who were on surveillance patrol.
Upon noticing the officers, he hastily abandoned his motorcycle and attempted to flee. The policemen, sensing something amiss, pursued and successfully apprehended him.

An anonymous source familiar with the incident disclosed that during interrogation at the police station, Abdulwasiu admitted that the army camouflage uniform belonged to his friend, who serves as a soldier in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Confirming the arrest, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, assured that the command had initiated an investigation into the matter.
He emphasized the seriousness of impersonating military personnel and underscored that appropriate legal actions would be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
The incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb impersonation and maintain public security across Lagos State.
