Eko Hot Blog reports that Borno State Police Command has officially confirmed the abduction of Justice Haruna Mshelia, a High Court judge, along with his wife, and driver in the Biu Local Government Area of the state.
ASP Nahum Daso, spokesperson for the police command, made this known on Monday, outlining the details of the abduction.
“We received a report today from one Sani Audu through the Divisional Officer of Biu that on 21st of June, 2024 at about 9am, the justice with his wife, orderly, and the driver were kidnapped along Biu-Maiduguri Road, specifically at Jiba town,” Daso stated.
He further revealed that the police have initiated an investigation into the abduction, with efforts focused on locating and securing the safe release of the victims.

“At present, there has been no communication from the abductors. Nonetheless, the police have implemented comprehensive security measures to facilitate the rescue of the judge, his wife, the orderly, and the driver,” Daso assured.
“In response to the situation, the Borno State Police Commissioner has deployed a specialized investigation team comprising the State Intelligence Department, tactical squads, and collaborating with other security agencies and the Department of State Services (DSS). Their mandate is to gather forensic evidence and execute strategies to track and secure the release of the victims,” he added.
As the investigation continues, the Borno State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, particularly those affected by this unfortunate incident.
