Tunji Alausa has hailed the Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre over accreditation of an Oncology Residency Programme.

The minister’s congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued by Dr. Lolade Adeyemi, his Special Adviser on Research and Innovation on Tuesday.
Dr. Alausa described the development as “a significant leap forward” in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
He also commended the Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre CEO, Dr. Modupe Elebute-Odunsi, for her “visionary leadership” in ensuring the enhancement of the capacity and quality of oncology care within Nigeria.
The minister further noted that the oncology residency programme will address the critical shortage of oncology specialists in our country.
“It is with immense pleasure and a sense of profound achievement that the Honorable Minister for State for Health & Social Welfare – Dr. Tunji Alausa, extends his heartfelt congratulations to Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre & Specialist Hospital on their accreditation by the National Postgraduate Medical College (NPMC) to offer Residency programs in Clinical and Radiation Oncology,” the statement reads.
“This milestone, being the first of its kind for a private hospital in Nigeria, represents a significant leap forward in our nation’s healthcare sector.
