See Conditions for Nigerians with Intentions to Obtain UAE Visa
The announcement by the Federal Government regarding the lifting of visa restrictions imposed by the United Arab Emirates Government on Nigerians has sparked mixed reactions amongst Nigerians.
Recall that the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, briefed State House correspondents on Monday after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
Idris revealed that an agreement has been reached between the Nigerian government and UAE authorities to lift the travel restrictions imposed on Nigerians with immediate effect.
“Nigerian passport holders can now travel to the UAE without any hindrance,” said Idris.
He also directed Nigerians seeking further details on the updated UAE visa conditions to visit documentverificationhub.ae.

However, the announcement has been met with mixed reactions on social media.
Many Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over the new visa fee on platforms like X.
Prior to the visa ban, the fee was $100. With the current naira to dollar exchange rate (N1,555), this cost translated to N155,500.
The document verification hub provides a specialised service designed to authenticate and verify documentation necessary for visa applications to the UAE.
According to the DV hub, the process costs a non-refundable ₦640,000 excluding VAT for each application. This fee does not include the visa fee, which must be paid by credit card at the UAE visa center in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
For Nigerians residing abroad, the visa fee can be paid at the nearest UAE visa centre.
“Your issued document verification number will be valid for 14 days from issuance, or once your visa application has been processed by the visa application department (whichever comes first),” stated the DV hub.
Interested travellers are expected to receive their document verification number within five business days once payment has been successfully processed.
