Protest: We did not arrest any photojournalist in Abuja -Police

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has denied arresting one Mr Jide Oyekunle, a Photojournalist.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, SP Josephine Adeh, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, adding that the photojournalist was rather  taken away from an apparent unsafe environment during the ongoing protest.

She said Oyekunle had failed to heed to the advice of the police to leave where he was standing to a safer location when the protesters suddenly became violent.

“While the protest is ongoing, it remains the duty of the police to protect lives and property,” she said.
