Aladeshonyin Of Odo Noforija Urges Patience, Peace Over Nationwide Protests
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a call for calm and constructive dialogue, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija, addressed local elders and community members yesterday, emphasizing the importance of patience and peaceful engagement over disruptive protests.
During a gathering of community leaders and elders, Oba Ogunlaja used the metaphor “cutting off the head is not the solution to a headache” to illustrate that protesting is not always the most effective way to address grievances.

“We understand that people are Hungry and Angry but at the same time peace should be desired,” the monarch said.
He acknowledged that while peaceful protests can be a legitimate form of expression, their outcomes often lead to further destruction and loss rather than positive change.
“The end result of many protests has been more damage to properties and loss of lives,” Oba Ogunlaja observed.
He noted that past protests, including the recent protests, have often been hijacked by hoodlums, leading to significant property damage and unrest.
“Even with a single day of protest, we’ve already witnessed substantial destruction,” he added.
The Oba urged the community to consider alternative methods for addressing issues and to support their leaders through prayer and constructive dialogue.
He stressed the need for patience and understanding, advising that destructive actions only serve to exacerbate problems rather than solve them.
In his message, the royal father also called for unity and cooperation among community members, encouraging them to work together with their leaders to create a more positive and supportive environment.
He highlighted the importance of engaging in discussions and finding common ground rather than resorting to destructive measures.
