The chairman, who was represented by ICPC Assistant Commissioner, Hassan Saminu, said that the commission found it necessary to partner with online journalists so that they would be acquainted with the requirements of reporting the activities of ICPC objectively.

“With the recent happenings in the country, journalists need to be abreast with reporting development issues that will promote the image of the country globally, rather than just reporting activities of insurgency and other negative aspects,” he said.

According to him, the cordial relationship that existed between the online journalists and the commission was commendable, adding that more efforts should be put together to sustain the tempo, urging the online journalists to always maintain the ethics of the journalism profession.

“Don’t deviate from fair and just reportage for the development of our country,” he said.

The ICPC Resident Commissioner in Kano State, Ibrahim Garba-Kagara, on his part, said that the training was to equip journalists with requisite knowledge about ICPC operations and initiatives to enhance their skills in reporting corruption issues.

Represented by ICPC Head of Investigation, Kano, Abubakar Jibrin, the commissioner urged journalists to be sincere and avoid sensational reporting on corruption issues.
