The leadership of the National Assembly has approved the appointment of Bashir Abubakar as the new Chief Public Complaint Commissioner of the Federation, in alignment with the legal framework established by the Public Complaints Commission (PCC). This decision was made to ensure adherence to the provisions outlined in the PCC Establishment Act.
In addition to Bashir Abubakar’s appointment, the lawmakers ratified the appointments of 37 other federal commissioners who will represent the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The information regarding these appointments was conveyed in a statement released by Dr. Barde Umoru, Secretary of Research and Information, on behalf of the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Magaji Tambawal. The statement emphasized that these appointments are in strict compliance with Section 2(1) of the Public Complaints Commission Establishment Act, ensuring that the process was conducted in accordance with the law.
The newly appointed commissioners include Ubong Uwah (Akwa Ibom), Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Kano), Olayisade Akintade Charles (Ekiti), Abatcha Maaji (Borno), Falola Olanrewaju Jimoh (Kwara), Dr. Achi Ezeora Christian (Ebonyi), and James Ogaba Oche (Benue).
Additional appointments were made for Edith Okoli (Enugu), Adekunle Alao (Osun), Barde Usman Shehu (Jigawa), Maryam Dalhatu Abdulmalik (Adamawa), Barr. Ronke Binawari (Bayelsa), Dr. Owa E. Owa (Cross River), Mathew Uduaghan (Delta), Bashir M. Isah (Katsina), Sama’il Salihu Bui (Kebbi), Mirakinyo Akinuye (Ogun), Nuhu Sabo (Taraba), Hassan Garba Katuzu (Yobe), Sani Akilu Idris (Kaduna), Madukwe E. E. (Abia), and Austin Aigbavboa (Edo).
