Armed Robbers Raid Ajilete FM, Steal Equipment Worth Millions in Oyo (PHOTOS)
Armed robbers have raided a radio station in Oyo State, stealing equipment worth millions of naira.
EKO HOT BLOG reports indicate that the robbers targeted Ajilete 92.1 FM, located in the Gambari area of Ogbomoso, and injured the station’s security guard during the attack.
Ajilete FM is one of the stations under the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), an organization established by the Oyo State government.
According to sources, the robbers struck in the early hours of Friday, making off with electric cables and other valuable equipment. They also raided the station’s power generator house, cutting off armored cables, and ransacked the transmitter house.

Additionally, the robbers stole the motorcycle belonging to the 70-year-old security guard, who was severely injured in the incident. He was beaten, tied up with ropes, and struck in the chest with the butt of a gun. The guard has since been taken to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The Acting Head of Channel, Kemi Ojelade, confirmed the incident in a phone conversation on Saturday. Ojelade stated that BCOS management, led by General Manager Mr. Goke Adelakun, visited the station to assess the damage.

“Yes, it is true. It happened on Friday. The BCOS management, led by the General Manager, Mr. Goke Adelakun, visited us for an on-the-spot assessment. The incident has been reported to the police. The Area Commander of Owode police headquarters, ACP Adigun Gbolagade, has also visited the station,” Ojelade said.
