Cristiano Ronaldo, the UEFA Champions League’s all-time top scorer, will be honoured with a special award from UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin for his extraordinary contributions to Europe’s premier club competition.
Ronaldo’s remarkable achievements, accumulated over more than 18 years, will be recognized during the draw ceremony for the inaugural 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 36-team league phase. The event is set to take place on Thursday, August 29, at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

The Portuguese forward, who has played for Sporting Clube de Portugal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, has netted 140 Champions League goals in 183 appearances. He leads Lionel Messi by 11 goals and Robert Lewandowski by 46.
Ronaldo has been the top scorer in the Champions League for seven seasons, more than any other player, including his eight goals in Manchester United’s 2007/08 winning campaign and his 15 goals during Real Madrid’s third consecutive title win in 2017/18. He also holds the record for the most goals in a single season, with 17 in 2013/14, and scored in three separate finals (2008, 2014, 2017).
Additionally, Ronaldo boasts the record for the longest scoring streak in Champions League history, with goals in 11 consecutive matches from June 2017 to April 2018, and has scored eight Champions League hat-tricks.
