Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, has unveiled the objectives for the 24th Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) National Women’s Conference.

The conference is scheduled to take place from September 10 to 11, 2024, at The Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

At a press conference held on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Alausa, Dr. Sanwo-Olu, who is also the chairman of COWLSO, highlighted the theme of this year’s conference: “Soar Beyond Boundaries: Enrich Communities.”

She stated that the annual conference has evolved over the years into a significant platform that positively impacts the lives of thousands of women.

“This year’s conference aims to address various challenges facing women and provide them with the support and platforms needed to take their rightful place in society.

“Our goal is to empower and support women in becoming independent and realizing their full potential, which will have a ripple effect on their lives, families, communities, and our nation as a whole,” Dr Sanwo-Olu said.

The conference will feature a hybrid format, offering both virtual and physical participation options to accommodate a broader audience.

Dr Sanwo-Olu also announced that key dignitaries, including the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, and his counterparts from Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa States, Umo Eno and Abdullahi Sule, are expected to attend the event.

Dr Sanwo-Olu praised the consistent and inspiring nature of the conference, noting that it has earned a reputation as a purpose-driven event that continuously strives to make a positive difference in the lives of women.

The Lagos State First Lady reiterated the conference’s commitment to tackling the issues that women face and providing them with the tools they need to thrive in all areas of life.
