Turkey’s Erdogan Seeks Muslim Unity to Confront Israel
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has issued a call to action for Islamic countries to unite against what he describes as Israel’s “growing threat of expansionism”.
This statement comes after the killing of a Turkish-American woman, who was part of a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank.
Erdogan emphasized the need for solidarity among Islamic nations, stating that it is the only way to counter Israel’s “arrogance, banditry, and state terrorism”.
He highlighted Turkey’s recent efforts to improve ties with Egypt and Syria as a step towards forming a united front against expansionism, which he believes threatens not only Palestine but also Lebanon and Syria.

During his speech at an Islamic schools’ association event near Istanbul, Erdogan expressed his commitment to restoring relations with neighboring countries, including Syria.
He mentioned that Turkey would extend an invitation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for possible talks.
