LASEPA, LASPARK Hosts Eco Explorers Boot Camp

Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has joined forces to launch the “Eco Explorers Bootcamp” – a one-day summer program aimed at inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders.

Held at the Dr. Oluyomi Abayomi Finnih Park in Ikeja, the boot camp brought together young minds to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of nature.

LASEPA General Manager Dr. Babatunde Ajayi emphasized the significance of the program in shaping the environmental consciousness of young participants.

The boot camp aimed to impart knowledge on climate change, global warming, waste reduction, recycling, and energy conservation.

Ajayi stressed the need to integrate environmental education into children’s lives, highlighting the state government’s commitment to delivering a cleaner, safer, and sustainable environment.

Executive Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Environmental Protection Matters, Ms. Tolulope Adebowale, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of involving children in environmental activities from a young age.

She noted that the program aimed to cultivate a lifelong appreciation for nature and inculcate sustainable living practices.

The event featured an engaging lineup of interactive activities, including science experiments, painting, gardening, and educational games emphasizing natural conservation, waste reduction, and recycling.

The Eco Explorers Boot camp is set to become an annual event, empowering kids across the state to become responsible stewards of the environment.

In this pioneering effort, Lagos State is shaping the next generation of environmental leaders, equipping them with the knowledge and values needed to sustain environmental efforts and create a better tomorrow.
