Kendrick Lamar is set to make history as the first rapper to solo headline a Super Bowl halftime show.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that The National Football League, Roc Nation, and Apple Music announced on Sunday that the California-born rapper will headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show on February 9th in New Orleans.
“Kendrick is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer,” said Jay-Z, founder of Roc Nation, in a statement.

Reacting to the announcement, Lamar expressed his excitement, emphasizing the significance of rap music. “Rap music remains the most impactful genre to date. I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” Lamar said in a statement.
The 17-time Grammy-winning artist previously performed at the Super Bowl in 2022 as part of the event’s first hip-hop showcase.
