Ukraine’s Long-Range Missile Hopes Dashed by US

Published

on

The White House has clarified that there will be no new policy announcements regarding Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles on Friday.

National security spokesman John Kirby stated, “There is no change to our view on the provision of long-range strike capabilities for Ukraine to use inside of Russia.”

He added that no major announcements are expected from the meeting between President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

EDITORS PICK:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been requesting allies to allow Ukraine to fire Western missiles, including long-range U.S. ATACMS and British Storm Shadows, deep into Russia.

However, Kirby emphasized that the U.S. is taking Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warnings seriously, reiterating that Putin’s comments are not new and that the U.S. is aware of his aggressive capabilities.

In essence, the White House is maintaining its current stance on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles, and no changes or announcements are expected soon.

The meeting between Biden and Starmer will likely focus on other topics, leaving Ukraine’s missile capabilities unchanged for now.
