Ekohotblog reports that Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has been named the ‘Outstanding Policy Maker of the Year 2024,’ an award recognizing his transformative contributions through grassroots programs and impactful policy developments that have significantly benefited his constituents and Lagos State at large.

As a former banker and politician with a distinguished career, Senator Abiru’s commitment to economic growth and social development has earned him widespread respect.

His tenure as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance from 2011 to 2013 saw the issuance of an N80 billion bond, which led to Lagos State receiving EMEA Finance’s Best Local Currency Bond Award in 2012.

Additionally, he played a crucial role in boosting Land Use Charge revenue, generating N6.2 billion.

Now serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions, Senator Abiru continues to lead efforts for policy reform.

Speaking about his leadership, a political analyst noted, “Senator Abiru’s work has truly set a new standard for what it means to be a public servant.
