According to Ukrainian authorities. In total, eight people were killed in the strikes.
At the time of the attack, 86 patients and 38 staff members were inside the facility, prosecutors confirmed.
The initial strike claimed one life and caused significant damage to the hospital, particularly to the ceilings across several floors, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported on Telegram.
As efforts to evacuate those inside the building were underway, Russian forces launched a second strike, resulting in the deaths of five more individuals, Klymenko added.

“Everyone in the world who talks about this war should pay attention to where Russia is hitting.
They are fighting hospitals, civilian objects, and people’s lives,” Zelenskiy wrote on Telegram.
He reiterated that only force could bring peace with Russia, adding, “Peace through force is the only right way.”
While Klymenko did not specify the exact weapons used in the strikes, regional authorities and the Ukrainian air force attributed the attack to drones.
The assault on Sumy highlights the increasing frequency of attacks in the region, especially after Ukrainian forces launched an offensive in Russia’s Kursk region in August, capturing several settlements.
Sumy, situated just 32 kilometers from the Russian border, has been a frequent target of Russian drone and guided bomb attacks.
On the same day, Ukraine’s air force announced it had successfully intercepted 69 of 73 drones deployed by Russia overnight, along with two ballistic and two cruise missiles.
Additionally, Kyiv’s military administration reported that air defenses had destroyed around 15 Russian drones in and around the capital.
