Some areas in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have regained power following Monday’s nationwide blackout, according to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

The blackout occurred after a national grid collapse late Monday, leaving the entire country without electricity.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that by early Tuesday, power had been restored to several areas, including Dei-Dei, Suleja, Lugbe, and Kuje. According to reports, the supply resumed around 5:15 a.m.

AEDC had earlier informed customers about the power disruption, which was attributed to the grid collapse.

In a statement released on Monday evening, the company confirmed that the collapse happened at approximately 6:58 p.m.

“Rest assured, we are working with relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid stabilizes,” the company said via its official Twitter account.

Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has clarified that the national grid collapse on Monday evening was only partial, affecting multiple areas across the country.

It stated last night, “Due to this development, all our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations are out of supply.
