Kalu was part of Nigeria’s Falconets squad at the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, where she made a substitute appearance in a group-stage match against Canada.
Before that, she had also played for Nigeria at the U17 level.
By joining Real Betis, Kalu follows in the footsteps of Super Falcons players Roosa Ariyo and Rinsola Babajide, both of whom previously represented the club.
Other notable Nigerian players, including Africa Cup of Nations champions Victor Ikpeba, Finidi George, and Nosa Igiebor, have also worn the Real Betis colours.
