According to Mick Brown, a former scout for Manchester United and Tottenham, the Gunners aim to follow the successful trajectory of Bukayo Saka, who has become a star player for the club.
Nwaneri, 17, signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in March and is now set to receive an extended deal that includes a substantial pay increase.

During the international break, he represented England’s Under-19s and made a strong impression by scoring in both matches against Portugal and France.
This season, he has been actively involved with Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad, making three appearances, including a 90-minute performance in the League Cup where he netted two goals against Bolton.
Nwaneri has been named in the squad for all seven of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season, as well as both Champions League fixtures.
Given his promising development from the youth ranks to the first team, Arsenal wants to reward him with a lucrative deal that reflects his value.
Notably, Nwaneri made history as the youngest-ever Premier League player and the first 15-year-old to feature in the league when he came on as a substitute during a 3-0 victory against Brentford in 2022.
Brown, who spent over a decade at United during their most successful period and served as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant, stated that promoting Nwaneri to a more regular role would help the club save money and reinvest in other areas.

“I’ve heard they want to give him a huge new contract,” he told Football Insider.
“And he’ll be worth the money as well, because what would it cost to bring in a similar player in the transfer market?
“When you’ve got a player like him, where he’s come through their academy system, it’s so valuable.

“On top of that, it’ll save them plenty of money in other areas.
“They’ve seen with Saka how valuable it can be to put faith in their academy players, and from what I’ve heard, they’ve got every belief he can be just as important.”
