While acknowledging the vital role of the institute in maintaining the steady flow of Lagos’ taxation system, he stressed that there is still a lot of work to be done.
“Today, I received a delegation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), led by their President and Chairman of Council, Barr. Samuel Agbeluyi.
During the meeting, he commended our administration and highlighted the importance of having diverse leadership, including more female and young voices in our public service.
“He appreciated our administration for being at the forefront of critical thinking and strategic planning when it comes to infrastructure, as this positions us as a leader among other states in Nigeria.”
Sanwo-Olu then called for collaboration and cooperation between the government and citizens, urging Lagosians to join hands in ensuring Lagos continues to serve the needs of the people more effectively and efficiently.
“I appreciate the institution’s commitment to advocacy, as it is essential that we engage at various levels.
Taxation is a two-way street, and it’s crucial for our citizens to recognize that we are partners in the development of Lagos State. Everyone has a role to play.
“While I am grateful for the accolades we’ve received, I also acknowledge that there is still much work ahead of us.”
