Ten Hag Relieved As United’s Comeback Victory Over Brentford Calms Criticism

For the second consecutive season, Manchester United staged a comeback to secure a vital win over Brentford at Old Trafford, relieving some of the mounting pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.

Brentford took the lead just before halftime through Ethan Pinnock’s contentious header, which came while Matthijs de Ligt was off receiving treatment for a head injury.

The decisive moment came in the 62nd minute when Rasmus Hojlund latched onto Bruno Fernandes’ sublime flick with the outside of his boot, calmly chipping Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken to secure the win.

Although it lacked the last-minute drama of Scott McTominay’s injury-time double from a year ago, this victory could prove more crucial for Ten Hag.
