Augustine University Prepares Staff for New Academic Session with Training on Excellence
Ekohotblog reports that Augustine University began a two-day staff orientation programme on Tuesday, 15th October 2024, to prepare staff for the new academic session.
The theme for the event is “Igniting Passion for Excellence,” and it is taking place in the university’s Convocation Hall.
In an opening speech, Professor Christopher Odetunde, the Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, talked about the importance of teamwork and performing excellently to help the university succeed. He urged all staff to work together to create a positive learning environment.
Mrs. Margaret Aziba, the Registrar, also spoke to the staff, stressing the importance of their roles in helping the university grow and achieve its goals. She stated that the orientation is designed to help staff members prepare for the challenges of the upcoming academic year.
The programme ended today, Wednesday, 16th October 2024, and included several sessions aimed at building important skills.
Some key sessions were “Fostering a Supportive Environment for Learning and Growth,” led by Dr. Adelodun Kolapo, and a virtual talk titled “What is a Catholic University?” presented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
The ICT Unit also shared updates in a session titled “AUI ICT Updates,” to keep staff informed about new technology.
Additionally, Rev. Sr. Josephine Tiav from the Counseling Unit led a session on “Recognize and Manage Reactivity,” helping staff learn how to handle workplace challenges better.
