Balotelli Returns To Serie A, Joins Genoa On Free Transfer
The 34-year-old, who last played for Turkish Super Lig club Adana Demirspor, returns to Italian football over three years after his departure from Monza.

Balotelli, a key player in Manchester City’s 2012 Premier League title win, joins a struggling Genoa squad under manager Alberto Gilardino, who currently sit 18th in the league with just six points from their first nine games.
Known for his controversial moments on and off the pitch, Balotelli famously sported a “Why always me?” T-shirt after scoring in City’s memorable 6-1 victory over Manchester United.
The Italian forward scored 30 goals during his time at Manchester City before moving to Liverpool in 2014, followed by a loan return to AC Milan.

Since then, he’s played for various clubs across Europe, including Nice and Marseille in France, and Brescia and Monza in Italy.
Balotelli, who earned 36 caps for Italy and was part of the squad that reached the Euro 2012 final, has not played for the national team since 2018.
